Biography 1889 Entered the Conservatory in Ghent, Adolf D'Hulst and Jozef Tilborgs (organ), Frans Van Avermaete (piano), Paul Lebrun (harmony) and Adolf Samuel (counterpoint). Withdrew due to ill health. 1894 entered Lemmens Institute (Edgar Tinel and Oscar Depuydt.). graduated with honors.
