Life

Born: Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland, November 1, 1859

Died: Enniscorthy, Ireland, August 6, 1928

Biography Educated at Mount Melleray, Carlow College, and All Hallows College Dublin. Studied for the priesthood before deciding to focus on music. Appointed organist at the Pro-Cathedral of Belfast in 1878. Organist Thurles Cathedral from 1882, at Monaghan Cathedral 188-94, Enniscorthy Cathedral September 1895-Aug. 1928. taught t the jesuit College in Tullabeg, Co. Offaly from 1882, Clongowes Wood College, Co. Kildare from 1884, at St. MacCartan's College, Monaghan from 1888, and at St. Kieran's College, Kilkenny. Honorary DMus Royal University of ireland, 1907. Papal Cross, Order of St. Gregory 1922.
