Life

Born: October 23, 1851, Montreal

Died: January 15, 1915, Montreal

Biography At age of 13, choirmaster at St, Brigets, Montreal. Went to Paris to study with Cesar Franck. At age 21, choirmaster of St. Clotilde Paris, but returned to Montreal, where he founded the Philharmonic Society (chorus) which ended in bankruptcy. First conductor of the Montreal Symphony, music director at the Cathedral
