Biography Louis Laszlo Balogh was born in Ujszasz, Hungary on February 9, 1898 to Kalman and Velma Balogh. He was educated at the National Conservator of Music in Budapest where he received a diploma in 1916. In 1932, he received a diploma from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. The University of Budapest awarded him a Ph.D. in 1924 and Western Reserve University awarded him an M. A. in 1940.
