Life

Born: Melle Belgium, May 15, 1876

Died: Belfast, Ireland, June 26, 1942

Biography 1889 Entered the Conservatory in Ghent, Adolf D'Hulst and Jozef Tilborgs (organ), Frans Van Avermaete (piano), Paul Lebrun (harmony) and Adolf Samuel (counterpoint). Withdrew due to ill health. 1894 entered Lemmens Institute (Edgar Tinel and Oscar Depuydt.). graduated with honors. October 1898 organist and choir conductor at Clonard Monastery of the Redemptorist Order. Founds St George's Singing Choir to promote Renaissance polyphony. 1911 edits St Cecilia's Hymn Book
