Biography Taught singing at the Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome. Came to New York in 1921 to teach at Mannes College. To California in 1926 at urging of Ernst Bloch to head vocal department of San Francisco Conservatory and teach 16th c. counterpoint, involved with Federal Music Project of California. Daughter Laura Maria Silva Minasian (June 8, 1914 Parma Italy-Nov. 18, 1991, Petaluma CA).
